Despite the popularity of Mini 4WD in Italy, it happens that in some regions isn’t held any Mini 4WD event. Thanks to Mini 4WD Sport after many years of missing, Mini 4WD are back in those places like region of Abruzzo where they were almost forgotten.
Last month, during the fantasy fest of the city of L’Aquila, were held the “Mini 4WD 99 Cup” organized by Mini 4WD Sport. The first event after the summer break of this 2019 season finale.
The tournament
Mini 4WD enthusiasts coming together from various parts of central Italy meet with the aim of having fun in a competitive spirit. The main difficulty faced by the participants was to become familiar with the race arena: a sloping park mainly characterized by a tiled floor.
The characteristics of the track forced the drivers to review the set-up of their cars, most of them opted for an off-road set-up with sponges of 35mm diameter due to increase the ground clearance and powerful gears to have enough torque on the uphill races.
Worth noting the great performances shown by Giulio’s “Dancing Doll”, winner of the tournament together with his Team, which astonished despite using an old Type 3 chassis, characterized by 72mm axles and spiked wheels, against adversaries with modern chassis like Super XX and MA.
Upcoming events
After the successful National Tournament helded in Turin we are moving further south near the Italian Capital, precisely in Monterotondo, where the Next National Sport Cup will be held, among the participants there will also be a pilot coming directly from Tokyo!
